Tomorrow will bring the first day of bitterly cold air to the region, along with some snow throughout the day. Eastern Ontario however may miss some of the snow, but there is some uncertainty.
Snow Squall Warnings, Snow Squall Watches and Winter Weather Travel Advisories remain in effect tonight as snow squalls continue off Lake Huron, Georgian Bay, and even Lake Erie. Travel with caution tonight as weather and road conditions remain poor and are expected to remain poor through tomorrow.
Some heavier snow showers are expected across the region tomorrow as bands of lake effect snow move inland. These bands of snow are expected to quickly coat roadways, causing slippery travel and likely reduced visibility.
Blowing and drifting snow is also expected tomorrow as wind gusts of 50 to 60 km/h are forecasted. Poor visibility and poor road conditions are expected across the region due to previous fallen snow and new snow.
Remember to bring your pets inside due to the extreme cold, and ensure you are bundled up if heading outdoors. Visit the STORM CENTRE for further information on the extreme cold and the snow squalls. Both of these will continue through mid-week.
