A low pressure system will move over Southwestern Ontario tonight and will bring snowfall through to Wednesday morning. The system will continue moving east and will move into Eastern Ontario on Wednesday morning, and snow will continue until Wednesday evening.
10 to 15 cm of snow is expected for areas such as Newmarket, Georgetown, and Orangeville.
5 to 10 cm of snow is expected across most of Central Ontario and the GTA, including Toronto, Barrie, Peterborough, Goderich, Oakville, Midland, Owen Sound, and Ottawa.
Trace to 5 cm of snow is expected for Sarnia, London, Brantford, Niagara Falls, Belleville, Kingston, Cornwall, Parry Sound, Huntsville, and Barry's Bay.
The snow may be heavy at times and may reduce visibility in some areas, as winds of 40 km/h are possible. The reduced visibility is more likely within open areas.
For many areas, this is the first snowfall of the season. If driving, make sure to leave extra space, and slow down while driving. Allow yourself extra time to stop.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Winter Weather Travel Advisory for many areas, stating that poor visibility is possible in heavy snow.
