Discussion
Snow squalls have developed off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay and will continue through the night, and for multiple days before winding down Thursday with the passage of a system.
The hardest hit regions for this round of snow squalls will be areas off Lake Huron including Goderich, Kincardine, Hanover, Listowel and Mount Forest, as well as areas in Central Ontario including Parry Sound and Huntsville. These ares can expect 25 to 50 centimetres of snow, with the potential for locally higher amounts. Road closures will be possible.
Snow squalls are packing a punch in the Parry Sound and Huntsville area, and will continue this through much of the day before winds begin shifting, moving the squalls to impact the Barrie area, as well as areas in Midwestern Ontario. The squalls will continue affecting areas of Midwestern Ontario through the day Wednesday before slowly winding down early to late Thursday with the passage of a system through the region.
There will be snowfall amounts of Trace to 5 centimetres across the region throughout this event as lake effect snow bands reach inland. Although these accumulations will be small, poor visibility will be possible for any band of snow, at any time, over any area.
