Discussion
Snow squalls will begin developing off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay later this morning, likely lasting through the day and into early Thursday. Areas such as Southampton, Hanover and Mount Forest are expected to see the highest snowfall amounts, with 15 to 25 centimetres expected.
Wind gusts up to 70 km/h are expected across much of the region through the day today. Additional blowing and drifting snow is expected, leading to poor travel conditions.
Caution should be exercised through the day today as temperatures will drop through the day. Wet roadways and sidewalks may turn icy quickly.
Snow squalls will diminish by Thursday morning, however another day of strong wind gusts is expected for Thursday. An additional Wind Outlook for Thursday will be posted in a later STORM CENTRE update.
The STORM CENTRE will remain active until conditions improve and may be extended into Thursday or Friday.
